CAN Muslims please explain why they are so intolerant of other religious groups? The following acts of violence by the group have recently taken place:
In Algeria Protestant churches were vandalised by Muslims.
In Egypt a certain Christian group who celebrate Christmas on January 7 were attacked with firearms during this celebration. A few were killed.
In Malaysia, a predominantly Muslim country, Christian churches were attacked for using the word Allah when referring to God. Apparently Muslims feel only they have the right to use the name Allah.
In countries like Britain, the US and France, Muslims are treated very well. Perhaps a swop should take place – Muslims from Western countries should be sent to Muslim countries and Christians taken to Western countries. Separation might be the only answer. – M Ducie, Mount Croix, Port Elizabeth

I REFER to “Five churches, school attacked in Allah row” (The Herald, January 11) and “Malaysia defends refusal to let Christians use Allah” (The Herald, January 12). In spite of a court ruling allowing a Catholic newspaper to use Allah in its Malay language editions, the Muslims there attacked four churches. One Pentecostal church was gutted.
Their audacious, uncivil, unacceptable behaviour is a disgrace and I trust their Muslim judicial councils in other countries will severely rap them over the knuckles. Their love for their fellow man, fellow being is zero. – Paul Leo, Springdale, Port Elizabeth
